This is the MDT 10 round AICS .308 magazines for AICS format rifles.
MDT's 10 round AICS short action magazine features a nitrided heat treated steel body, finished in Ceracote Elite for extreme durability. They are up to 3/4" shorter than equivalent steel AICS magazines thanks to their unique Double Stack Single Feed (DSSF) geometry.
Available in standard and an extra COL (Cartridge Overall Length) versions.
- Standard COL = 2.870" OAL (with binder plate)
- Extra COL = 2.960" OAL (without binder plate)
- Height = 3.90"
Note that the extra COL format has the same size magazine body but has the front binder plate removed (an interior reinforcing plate along the front of the magazine tube) which reduces rigidity slightly. For normal civilian use where repeated heavy impacts are unlikely this won't be an issue.
Please note: on some rifles such as the Remington 700 and Savage 10/12/16 series the bottom of the feed ramp may need notching or adjusting to stop the bullet nose catching underneath the ramp when using the Extra COL magazine type.
