The Magload AR-22 Bolt Catch is a competition upgrade for the standard AR-15 bolt release catch, to enable automatic last round bolt hold open on Milspec AR-15 .22 rifles and conversions with improved grip.

It allows manual bolt hold open on all rifles and enables automatic last round bolt hold open when used with .22 magazines featuring a rear bolt hold lever:
- Magload AR-22 31 round .22LR magazines
- CMMG Gen 2 25 round magazines
- Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 25 round magazines (using an adapter for AR15 lower magwells - see below)
- Kriss DMK 25 round .22LR magazines
Compatible with all CMMG and Ciener bolt format conversions including:
- CMMG
- Ciener
- Spikes Tactical
- Tactical solutions
Not suitable for other AR .22 formats:
- CZ V22 action
- M261 conversion action
- Colt conversion action
- DPMS bolts and uppers
- Southern Gun actions
Not compatible with the Magpul BAD Lever.
How it works: the lever extends the bolt hold open latch and magazine contact points forward from the standard .223 position at the rear of the magazine to the last round hold lever on compatible magazines.
Fitting is a quick 5 minute parts swap, use a punch pin to partially remove the pin holding the bolt hold open catch so you can swap them over (if your AR has a roll pin fitting) minding the small spring underneath, if you have a threaded pin then it's a quick allen key job.
