US rifle manufacturer Savage Arms have a long and illustrious history, however the bit we're mainly interested in is their 1995 buy out of Canadian rimfire specialists Lakefield Arms, whose Ontario factory now makes all Savage rimfires. In fact, most Savage rimfires are basically a branded take on the Lakefield line and very good they are too, especially the models with the new Savage accu-trigger and accu-stock where available.
